It's the league!

JUST over a year ago McNeil, Dre1 and Omari Milli, three young men born in Barbados and raised in North America met at a local Hip Hop contest. Apart from being Bajan and proud, it was their love for Rap and Hip Hop that brought them together as LXG.
Omari Milli - the lyrical craftsman known for great delivery and tremendous stage presence broached the idea of starting a group. Influenced by the hip hop culture in his adopted homeland of Toronto, he tasted the big stage at a show called Africari in Eglinton.
At that time he was a member of local a rap group called Militant Menaces where he wrote and co-produced projects, including their first album, for Three Kings Studio in Toronto. But it was not to be and after a few successes the members parted ways.
In 2003 he returned to Barbados in pursuit of a solo career and entered the Barbados Hip Hop Festival where he placed third in the freestyle competition. He was asked to guest perform in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Later in 2006 he opened for Lloyd Banks at the then Afterdark Night Club in St. Lawrence Gap.
It was at the Hit Island 16 Shot where Omari became aware of Dre1's talent. Also called Luco Brazi by his friends, Dre saw the 16 shot competition as an avenue to test his rapping mettle. A determined artist, with innovative ideas and a desire to be the best at his craft, he grew up on the South Side of Jamaica Queens, New York. In 1995 he was influenced by the Rap and Hip Hop culture of new comers Lost Boyz, whose message targeted inner city youths and resonated with them.
After spending his formative years in Orlando, Florida, McNeil returned home and started a solo career. A songwriter/performer with eight years experience, he garnered a distribution deal with Vision Records of Miami Florida for his then group Warhedz.
He also co-produced and edited two independent videos for the group and assisted in finalising a production company and record label for the Warhedz.
McNeil performed as an opening act for Busta Rhymes, Naz, Pharoe Monch and many more. He has toured with Redman and Method Man on the Black Out 2000 tour where he performed in 30 cities across America.
LXG released their debut album Social Representation last November with 15 tracks written by them and produced by Dwayne Antrobus and Mad Dawg from Caribbean Records (B'dos Ltd).
The group has also released the music video to the lead single Jah Live.
In 2007 LXG stepped up its commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS, lending the instrumental version of Jah Live to Stars For Hope, a half-an-hour programme looking at the link between illegal drugs and HIV, produced by the international cable channel CaribVision.
The group has created an HIV/AIDS jingle targeting the 15-35 year old demographic and has also been featured in other television productions, including 98.1 TV, bringing awareness to the disease.
LXG is currently in Toronto Canada on a Radio and Television promotional Tour.
